Busy Bees of Murrabit
Busy Bees of Murrabit is a community development project operated by the Murrabit Promotions Committee, a not-for-profit community organisation. Opened for the first time on Friday 25 November 2005, Busy Bees of Murrabit aims to provide a central location to promote tourism, an outlet for the sale and display of locally produced arts and crafts, and of course an additional attraction for visitors to enjoy. Busy Bees of Murrabit is an initiative of the Murrabit Advancement Association who recognised the need to promote local tourism, art and craft and the Murrabit Country Market on days other than Murrabit Market days. This was in response to the growing number of visitors and coaches passing through Murrabit throughout the year. Busy Bees of Murrabit is just one way in which the Murrabit Advancement Association is working to enhance and develop Murrabit and district. All profits raised though the sale of goods will stay in the community and will eventually be used to fund vital community projects. The gift shop is stocked using goods on consignment from regular Murrabit Market stallholders, as well as goods sourced from local art and crafters. It is hoped that Busy Bees of Murrabit with grow to include a range of local gourmet foods, oils, teas, and wines. Busy Bees of Murrabit is open on Wednesday and Friday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., or by appointment by phoning 5457 2205.
